Our rare breed pigs are Tamworths, Saddlebacks, Large Blacks, Pietrains and Landrace. They enjoy
a healthy outdoor life wallowing in the mud and resting under trees, they are fed on pig corn and can dig for grubs in the soil,
before retiring to an indoor straw yard when it rains.
At around 6-9 months the pigs are taken into a local slaughterhouse. We then butcher to order and can
provide pork chops, leg or shoulder joints, belly pork, sausage and bacon. The sausage is high meat content and the bacon is
matured over 10 days in brown sugar, salt and water.
Just watch as you grill the sausages and bacon, no added water comes off just beautiful lovely
crispy bacon or meaty sausages are left on the grill pan - magic!
Pork is £4.40 per kilo (£2.00/lb) for joints and chops, sausages and bacon are £6.60 per kilo
(£3.00/lb). Half a pig costs £120, a quarter is £65 and in this you get chops, joints, sausages and bacon. We can also make
gammons.
